Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day

It's May Giveaway Day! I'm super excited about this. Again, I want to share the gift of crochet with someone. So I've put together a fun package. :)

Some crochet hooks. Yes a whole pack!

10 skeins of yarn. All colors!

And this fun book! I know a lot of people have been wanting it. I just so happen to have an extra copy!

For the rules: The Giveaway ends on May 29th at 11:59PM PST. To enter, just leave a comment with your favorite crochet book, link to your favorite crochet pattern, or a place to buy crochet patterns. That's it! Good luck!

And if you want to enter a few more giveaways, you should head over to Lola's blog, or Mrs. S, Maggie, Cari, or Anna Marie's blog.

Manders - I have no favorites. I haven't figured out how to do the crochet thing, yet. But I'm really exited about learning! Is this book easy to follow? Is it good for someone just learning? And if not, do you have any suggestions for a good "crochet for dummies" book? It would have to have small projects in it - I'm not brave enough to try a big project - wow - what if I screwed something up?!!!

i got Crochet Bouquet by suzanne Thompson for my birthday and have had so much fun! love it... great giveaway i just learned how to crochet. I think if you can read and understand patterns it's okay. if you mess up you just have to pull the string and try again

My favorite crochet book is probably one of my doily books. Maybe "Learn to make: Stunning Doilies." It's old, but has some classic patterns in it.

(Caren- I've found that "Teach Yourself Visually Crocheting" is a decent beginner's book)

I don't really have any great links. My mom recently gave me a huge box full of old Annie's Attic magazines, so I have been crocheting from that.

I have no favorites. Seems like I hear "Ravelry" mentioned lots. I've been wanting to learn to crochet though so I'm sure all these goodies would help. My son would be thrilled if I made him those adorable animals!!

I don't think I have ever bought a crochet book. I find most of the patterns I use on Ravelry, or make them up. This book looks like a lot of fun. I love sticking a little amigurumi toy in with a baby gift.

I'm relatively new to crochet, and don't buy many patterns since there are so many good free ones out there. I love Attic 24 for her great tutorials and blanket patterns!

My favorite crochet book is not a book per se, it is a person. A member of my extended family is the most amazing crochet-er (?) and can make such beautiful afghans and sweaters. I wish I could download her brain sometimes because I could not crochet if my life depended on it.

I don't have a favorite crocheting book title to give you, but if I had to pick it would be the random book I had checked out at my school library when I was 15.. I had learned how to chain stitch from my aunt; however, since I'm left handed and she's not, she was never able to teach me anything else. The book enabled me to learn how to do all the other stitches!

I just remember it was an old book.. probably printed in the 60's or 70's. I remember looking at the hair of the people in the book -all hand drawn of course- and going 'what is up with that 'do?
