Bones

I've waited and waited. And waited some more! I've been so patient! And Monday night, didn't disappoint! Not one bit!!

Did anyone else catch Bones? It was so good! And I hope this means, a few more seasons. :) I can't wait to see how Bones, really interacts with Baby Christine.

Funny thing is, I never watched this show. Not until about a year ago. When Lola got me hooked. Then I suddenly had to watch every episode. I've seen them all twice! And now, I'm hooked! What's one of your favorite, must see TV shows?

New in 2012: Our Kids and Opera

The Phantom of the Opera came out Sunday night. The 25th Anniversary of, The Phantom of the Opera. But we were gone working. Before we left, I set our DVR, and recorded it. Knowing that when we got back, I'd watch it over a few nights. After the kids were asleep.

What surprised me was, Billy wanted to watch it. And so did our kids! It happened on Tuesday. I was looking, for a show for the twins. We were getting Lauren ready. And it showed up on the list. Lauren asked about it. And seemed really interested in it. So we agreed, Wednesday, we'd watch it. Together.

I was a little skeptical of our plans. I can't lie. At worst, I thought, I'd watch it later that night. On Wednesday, as the twins napped, I prepared. I got out the new things I'd bought. To entertain my kids. New coloring books, crayons, small games, that kind of thing. Between, I just went to the Dollar Tree, for all of that!

Then I baked some cookies, made sure dinner was coming along in the slow cooker, and looked for snacks. I set up our den, to be "movie ready." But I was still not sure.

By the time I picked up Lauren, and Billy got home, I highly doubted, my kids would sit through this show. And boy was I shocked!

Not only did they sit through it, but they were mesmerized! Didn't make too much noise. Didn't touch all the toys. Just sat there and watched. Honestly, the 5 of us, cuddled on the couch. Almost the entire time. Eyes wide open. Taking in the entire show!

I was shocked. I didn't think my kids, would really be into this show. I didn't think, that almost 2 year olds, would find it interesting. But there was something, for everyone.

I'm positive, that Robbie enjoyed all the "special effects." Which definitely added to the show. Lauren and Abby, were both, really interested in the dancing. Especially, in the beginning. Billy was really into the music. I thoroughly enjoyed the makeup and costumes!

I really thought, that the content, would be a bit much. But the "death scenes," happened quickly. And you didn't really notice, if you weren't really paying attention. Which, my kids were not watching, that closely. When we knew someone would die, we'd distract them. And it was over in a few seconds.

My favorite part of the show, was the encore. At the end. When the older cast, performed. Quite emotional. I will say this, I'm glad that I had recorded it. Because the local channel, was using this, to "collect pledges." It was nice to skip all of that!

This was an interesting experiment. This morning, Lauren asked me, when we could watch another show like that. Interesting. Maybe we can find a "Children's Opera," to take them to. I think that would be a lot of fun.

In case you are interested in seeing the Phantom of the Opera, I'd check PBS. Here's a little clip of the show. And you can definitely check your local listings. Maybe you can catch it this weekend.. It's worth the few hours.

The Amandas

I'm pretty sure, this is my new favorite show! No lie. I first heard about it, from Lola. And you know what, Amanda reminds me a lot of Lola. :) It's not a bad thing.

In fact, whenever I'm having a "organization dilemma," I call Lola. I'm not going to lie about this. But I've been known, to bribe my friend, with a free haircut, manicure, or even a pair of shoes! Because she makes magic, out the ordinary things, in life. Yes, she does!

This is such great show. And I think you should watch it! If nothing else, the transformations are AMAZING! I'm getting tons of ideas. :) Yes, I do like to see a beautiful room. And Amanda makes some beautiful spaces. Not to mention, I like her name! :)

My Funny Valentines

This will be the 7th Valentine's Day, that Billy and I celebrate together. :) And I can say this much, I'm more in love with him, with each passing day. I honestly, couldn't imagine what life would be like, without my hubby!

With our itty bitties, it's a little tough for us to get away. Honestly, I don't think either of us wants to leave them. Not even on Valentine's Day! So we've planned some at home fun. Just for our little family!

Billy and I picked up Lady and the Tramp. A movie that our kiddos have been wanting to see. I'm planning a yummy spaghetti dinner. With these cute cakes for dessert. A big bowl of popcorn, with Valentine's M&Ms. And lots of snuggling.

We've made treats for the kids, and decorated the house. Lauren's Valentines for school, are ready. And love is definitely in the air! I can't wait for tomorrow to come. To celebrate this day of love, with my funny Valentines. :)

And this song, ALWAYS reminds me of my amazing hubby. This man that God sent me. To love me. To live this life with. To grow our family together. It's just #7 for us. I can see us celebrating well into our 90s!

Smash

Have you happened to catch Smash? It's a new show! On NBC. I'm a HUGE fan of Glee. So when I heard about Smash, I just knew that I needed to watch it. :)

Last night when we watched it, I let our kiddos stay up a little later than usual. They enjoy Glee too! So I thought, this would be something, they'd like. One thing about our family, shows that our kids enjoy, we TiVo. And usually watch the next day, as a family.

This worked at really well. All 3 of our kids, were singing away. Our daughters were dancing too! We're just a very musical family. And enjoy spending time, enjoying music, and shows that celebrate the arts.

I would definitely recommend this show to anyone, who likes Glee. Or even Dancing with the Stars. It left me in such a great mood! And I can't wait until next week's episode. I think Katharine McPhee, finally found a project that really fits her. Perfectly!

Original Sin

I'm not getting all "biblical" on you here. Nope! I'm talking about the movie, Original Sin. Have you ever seen it?

Well, I happened to watch it, last night. I'd honestly, never heard of it before. I'm not a big Angelina Jolie fan. But last night, I was looking for something, to watch on TV. Billy was knee deep in paperwork. And the kiddos, were sound asleep. Not only did I find a new movie channel to watch. I also found this new movie!

It was a good movie. Exciting. Interesting. And the perfect background, to my newest crochet project. I'm learning, that you need a good movie, to get lots of crocheting done. Yes, it was a good night. And Billy did join me, for the last 30 minutes. This is a movie, that I'd recommend. :) What are some of your favorite movies to watch?

New in 2012: Downton Abbey

I want to try something new on my blog. I want to document one of my goals for 2012. Trying new things. Every Friday, I'm going to tell you about something new, that I've tried. Something new, that I did, that week.

We're starting this week off, slowly. Mostly because my family and I, have been traveling. But there is something, that I've wanted to do, for a while now. Watch Downton Abbey.

Lola had been telling me about it. And it sounded like an amazing show! Weeks ago, I finally ordered the series. And I made sure, to pack it in my suitcase. While the BBs were doing their thing, I was snuggled into the dressing room. With my laptop, and Downton Abbey. I'm not lying!

I did watch some of the BBs shows. But not all of them. This is totally normal for me. But instead of reading magazines, or watching YouTube videos, I watched this show. And it's AMAZING! Billy was laughing at me. Because I'm sure, I'm addicted now. :)

I'm planning on finishing up Season 1, while my kids nap. I should have it done by next week. And I'm definitely all over Season 2. It starts Sunday night! So I have to TiVo it. Because I won't yet be done with Season 1.

In my new project, I'm looking for some ideas. I already have a little list. Sitting right here on my desk. And I want to know, and hear from you, about some ideas. What are some ideas or things, that I should try? Please leave me some suggestions. Let's see what 2012 has in store for me...

I Need You

What a beautiful song! You would think that it makes me think of my husband. Really, it makes me think of Lola and her man. She's so in love with him. And he is equally in love with her! They've been singing this song together. And this week in particular, they've been holding tight to each other. So much has been going on.

Like I said, this song just reminds me of the 2 of them. It's so special for them. And I'm glad that they've found each other. Love is so very important. It makes everyone's life so complete.

No matter how amazing your life is, when you're missing that person and that love, your life isn't complete. Your life can be so amazing and beautiful, but that missing piece of the puzzle, you can definitely feel it! I'm glad Lola has her man's love to fall back on.

Lisa Makes Me Smile

I really enjoy watching Lisa's videos. She has such a soothing voice. And she is someone who really loves to take care of herself.

In a lot of ways, I'm like that too. I think half of being a good mother and wife, is being able to take some time out for yourself. You need to be happy and healthy before you can take care of screaming babies and hungry husbands. :)

Another thing I enjoy about Lisa, is that she is genuine. Not many of the big "gurus" on YouTube are that way. But Lisa is honest and sincere. I really do love that about her! Also, she has some wonderful ideas about makeup. It's making my shopping list a little lengthy. But there are some great recommendations. :)

Drugstore Makeup Guru

I have found a new YouTube guru, that I really enjoy watching. Marnie is really sweet. And I think really enjoy watching her videos. It's nice to see someone who doesn't have to have all the expensive makeup. She just enjoys makeup. And prefers drugstore stuff. It's a nice change of pace. A breath of fresh air. Love it!

If you are interested in drugstore products, Marnie is a great person to watch. And she is super sweet. I feel like she could be a great friend. You know, if we were neighbors or something. So I definitely would suggest that you watch Marnie's videos.

So Fun

As a MUA and makeup loves in general, I really enjoy fresh new makeup ideas. Fun things. Not necessarily your "every day" makeup. And I really enjoy this look by Sara.

To be honest, I really enjoy Sara's videos. I think she is a natural talent when it comes to makeup. In a lot of ways, she reminds me of myself. That might be why I enjoy her videos so much. But she is a lot of fun to watch. I really like her style.

Up on the Ridge

I've had this song stuck in my head for weeks! It's not that the radio is always playing it. Because I don't hear it much on the radio. But my husband, he's been playing it for weeks, maybe even months!

I really like it. But it's been stuck in my head! I've even dreamt about it. Is that crazy? I really like the musical break in the song. My husband was explaining it all to me. But I just like the way it sounds.

So what do you do when you have a song stuck in your head? I'm thinking, maybe I can join the BBs. I can be their back up singer or something. Well, if I could sing...

Audrey Hepburn

I can't lie, I haven't been feeling too glamorous lately. Until I seen Carly's new video. I know it's late. I'm in my pjs, covered in baby spit up. But I feel inspired to play with some makeup. You know, before my son wakes up for his midnight feeding. I just love this makeup look!
